Art is an exploration of ourselves and of the world around us. Through my paintings, I have found that I am most excited by the simple beauties in everyday life, perhaps because of their understated qualities and constant evolutions. They offer a comforting respite from the daily stresses of life, and to be able to paint those moments is doubly rewarding.

 

I am particularly drawn to the subtle color changes in skyscapes and seascapes. Through the use of hazy brushwork and sensitive palettes, I aim to capture the ephemeral quality of nature, as well as the emotions and moods of various scenes. I find that nature is often the most rewarding source of inspiration because of its simplicity and unassuming power. It offers endless excitement and wonder but asks nothing in return.
